Gallery 237: Farringdon - September 2011

Work on the new Thameslink ticket hall at Farringdon is in full flow as Network Rail strives to have the new building ready for passengers by the end of 2011. A steel frame has been assembled and the distinctive roof angles can clearly be seen.

There's lots more going on at the station - a new roof has been erected at the Clerkenwell end and the gallery shows where this meets the existing roof over Underground and Thameslink platforms. The new Turnmill Street entrance has opened and this now provides access into a new building parallel to the sub-surface line tracks with stairs and bridge access to all platforms.
