Gallery 245: Eclipse busway service launch

22 April 2012 saw the new Hampshire busway, which bypasses part of the Fareham-Gosport A32 corridor, open to the public.

Built by contractor BAM Nuttall along the former rail alignment between the two towns, First Group is providing a high frequency service - branded Eclipse. Buses feature leather seats, wood effect floors and free wifi internet access.

Funding for the scheme was secured from central government by Hampshire County Council which has plans to extend the busway and Eclipse network of buses.
