Photos show Laing O'Rourke's factory in Steetley in the east Midlands where Custom House Crossrail station is being constructed off site. Large sections of the station are being built in Steetley and then transported more than 130 miles to east London for assembly.

Crossrail says this process saves time and money and ensures that disruption to residents, existing rail services and the nearby ExCeL London exhibition and conference centre is minimised.
